Wolo Africa 4x4 Adventure Challenge 2025

My Story
Dear friends,
This June, I’ll be taking on a once-in-a-lifetime overland adventure across Namibia and Botswana, covering more than 3,000km of rugged terrain. Breathtakingly wonderful landscapes, stunning wildlife areas, and welcoming communities await us!
This journey is not just about the miles travelled, it's to support the WOLO Foundation and making a real difference to families facing one of life’s toughest challenges: cancer.
The WOLO Foundation helps families living in Sussex through their cancer journeys by offering practical help and emotional support to make daily life just that little bit easier. They work with local businesses and communities to provide everything from cleaning and childcare to therapy and family days out -supporting people from diagnosis, through treatment, and beyond.
💛 1 in 2 people in the UK born after 1960 will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. That’s a stark reminder that life is precious. We need to make the most of it. We Only Live Once – WOLO!
It has been 10 years since my heart attack, and taking on a personal challenge would be a good way to celebrate the extra time I have been given by the wonderful doctors and nurses that helped to save my life that day.
However, there may be a few of you who are not so happy with these doctors and nurses and if you are one of those people I still expect a donation as it’s for WOLO and not me!!
This African challenge will push personal limits and for those that know me well I will be experiencing some minor hardships: ground camping in the wild, lack of showers, TV, Chelsea FC, curries, irons and washing machines. I will be navigating tough terrain, driving between 4-8 hours a day in harsh conditions all without my Valet! Joking aside, although I have been lucky to have travelled extensively, this will be a new adventure, and I look forward to embracing local cultures.
Finally, for those who are still unhappy with me walking on this planet, just a little reminder that Namibia has 27 of the world’s most poisonous snakes, scorpions hovering around my feet and of course the most dangerous African animal - The Hippo.
And here’s something to make your donation go further:
💜 I will personally match all donations up to a total of £250
💙 FIVEfoot8 Ltd will also match donations up to a further £250
That means your generosity can have double the impact — helping WOLO do even more for those who need it most.
Please support me in raising funds for this incredible charity.
Every donation, no matter the size, truly helps.
💛 Let’s make a difference - together.
